Col. Stephen Patton Shepherd, retired U.S. Army Reserve, 59, of Lexington, husband of Wanda Bradburn Shepherd, died Sat, Feb 16, 2008 at his residence. Born in Asheville, NC, he was the son of the late John Patton and Mary Ann Stephen Shepherd. Steve was a graduate of UNC-Asheville. He was a pilot for Air Methods/KY LifeNet and a member of Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary. Besides his wife, survivors include two sons, Jesse Patton Shepherd and Bane Stephen Shepherd; seven brothers and sisters, Susan (Mike) Sneeringer, Charles (Susie) Shepherd, John Michael (Pat) Shepherd, Mary Cecil (James) Futrell, Katherine (Matt) Patterson, David (Danielle) Shepherd and Gerald (Barbara) Shepherd; 12 nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be 11am Wed at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary. Visitation will be from 5-9pm Tue at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home - Harrodsburg Road. Burial will be held at a later date in Shepherd Memorial Hendersonville, NC.
